Oxacillin, a penicillin antibiotic. Oxacillin is resistant to penicillin, and its antibacterial action is similar

to penicillin. It has good antibacterial activity against penicillinase producing staphylococci, but less against

Streptococcus and non penicillinase producing staphylococci than penicillin G. Benzoxacillin plays a

bactericidal role by inhibiting the synthesis of bacterial cell wall.
