Description:

Cloxacillin sodium is a semi synthetic penicillin, which has the characteristics of acid resistance and

penicillinase resistance. It plays a bactericidal role by inhibiting the synthesis of bacterial cell wall.

It has antibacterial activity against gram-positive cocci and Neisseria. It has stronger antibacterial

activity against staphylococci including Staphylococcus aureus and coagulase negative staphylococci

than oxacillin, but weaker antibacterial activity against penicillin sensitive staphylococci and various

streptococci than penicillin, and has no effect on methicillin resistant staphylococci.
