R404A is a mixture of three components,HFC125, HFC-134a and HFC-143. R404A can be used in new commercial refrigeration equipment of meso-low temperature, transportation refrigerating equipment or renewal equipment. The refrigerant is suitable for all normal operating conditions of R502. Because R404A belongs to HFC zeotropic refrigerant(completely free of CFC and HCFC that will cause the destruction of the ozone layer ), the vast majority of countries in the world have recognized and recommended it as a mainstream low temperature environment-friendly refrigerant at present , widely used in refrigeration equipment installation and maintenance in the process of adding. It conforms to the United States environmental protection organization EPA, SNAP and UL standards, and conforms to the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers(ASHRAE) ‘s A1 security rating category (which is the highest level, harmless to human beings).

R-404A is a HFC “nearly azeotropic” blend of 52 wt.% R-143a, 44 wt.% R-125, and 4 wt.% R-134a. It is designed as a replacement of R-22 and R-502 CFC. Its boiling point at normal pressure is -46.5 °C, its liquid density is 0.485 g/cm3.
