Appearance

Red brown powder, with acetic acid crystallization crystallization for palm green metallic luster.

Dissolve situation

Soluble in ether, acetone, oil, chloroform and petroleum ether, ice acetic acid and ethanol

solution.Insoluble in water and alkali solution, and sulphuric acid.

Chemical characteristics

1.Can make cork, keratinized cell walls and fat, volatile oil, resin and so on dyed red or orange red.

2.Solvent Extraction Principles:Fat dyeing liquid have strong affinity and Sudan, Sudan 3 fatty change orange.

Application

It is used to color nonpolar substances like oils, fats, waxes, greases, various hydrocarbon products, and acrylic

 emulsions.It is also used to dye some hydraulic fluids and some other hydrocarbons, predominantly gasoline.
